Education
I completed a Ph.D. in psychology at Purdue University, where doctoral research focused on attachment and marital satisfaction. Post-doctoral studies at the University of Ottawa included core training in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.
I also hold undergraduate degrees in Honours Psychology and Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s. In addition, I have learned much from the past by studying the Humanities for about three years, especially English Literature.
I am a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO). I keep up to date on developments in the field of psychology by frequently attending webinars, conferences and public talks.
Experience
I have been licensed as a Clinical Psychologist for approximately 20 years, most of which has been in private practice working with adult individuals and couples. Besides citizens in the Ottawa area, this time has also involved working with members of the Department of National Defence as well Veterans Affairs Canda.
Prior to this I provided psychological services in community mental health centres as well as hospitals, including: the Centre for Psychological Services (University of Ottawa), Royal Ottawa Hospital, Brockville Psychiatric Hospital, Roberts-Smart Centre, and the Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic (Purdue University).
In addition, I have taught several courses at Purdue University as well as the University of Ottawa, which include Social Psychology, Lifespan Developmental Psychology, Human Sexuality and Introductory Psychology.
